In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

3 reasons to book
  • Staff who really help — Staff is the hotel's highest-scoring category at 9.5, and guest reviews repeatedly mention friendly, informative reception staff who recommend restaurants and arrange tour bookings.
  • Quiet, well-equipped rooms — Rooms score 9.1. Guests describe them as clean, comfortable, quiet and elegant, with private bathrooms, fridges and tea and coffee facilities; the amenity list also includes air conditioning, soundproofing and mini-bars.
  • Walkable central location — Via Nazionale puts the Metro two blocks away, Termini about five blocks away and the Trevi Fountain nearly 15 minutes on foot. Restaurants, shops and a full-service market are close by, according to guest reviews.

Worth weighing

3 to weigh
  • Comfort scores below the rest — The Comfort category sits at 7.9, lower than every other listed score and below the hotel's overall 8.7. One light-sleeping guest used the fan setting to mask outside noise, so soundproofing may not suit everyone.
  • Early check-out — Check-out is between 07:00 and 10:00, and check-in closes at 22:30, so late arrivals and lie-ins on departure day are limited.
  • Lobby access involves a flight of stairs — Guests enter via street-level intercoms and reach the lobby one floor up. The lift is small and usually operated with staff help for luggage, so anyone with mobility concerns should factor this in.

“The cappuccinos at breakfast were decent.”

“This stylish, newer hotel was a pleasure to stay in. The queen room felt quiet and well insulated, the bathroom was nicely done and had a bidet, and the central position put restaurants and shops close by. Ristorante Esperia next door was handy for lunch.”

“The location was perfect, with many of Rome's main attractions within walking distance. The staff were friendly and helpful.”

“Our group was my husband, me and three adult children. The suite was exactly right for us: three bedrooms and a bathroom that felt large by European standards. Having our own entrance was convenient because the suite sat slightly apart from the rest of the hotel. Reception staff were excellent, suggesting great Roman restaurants and helping with tour reservations. This was one of our favourite room layouts from a trip that had already taken us through three other European countries. The location was strong too — two blocks to the Metro and a short walk to the train station. I cannot judge the standard rooms, but for a large group the suite is the one I would recommend.”

“The staff were really kind and attentive to detail. The room was fairly quiet and elegant, with a fridge.”

“We stayed three nights after a seven-day cruise. Arriving around noon, our room was ready in about 15 minutes. The staff were friendly, helpful and spoke English. The location suited us well: two blocks to the Metro, five blocks to Termini station, a full-service market about a block away, and restaurants, shops and a pharmacy close by. The rooms were large enough and clean, towels were changed daily, and the air conditioning kept the room comfortable even in hot weather; the fan setting was enough to mask outside noise if you are a light sleeper. Breakfast was excellent, with hot tea, coffee, juices, milk, cereals, yogurt, fruit, good pastries, toast, cold meats and cheese. To enter, you use intercom buttons at the street entrance and again inside, then get buzzed in; the lobby is one floor up. A small lift is available with staff help for luggage, otherwise you walk up one flight. We would certainly stay here again.”
